A big thank you to everyone who helped secure this boat for the wider club. The 2007 Vespoli Eight has been acquired as a shared resource for both development crews and racing squads alike, giving all members the opportunity to experience a high-performance racing shell.
For those unfamiliar, Vespoli USA is one of the world’s most respected rowing boat manufacturers. Founded in the late 1970s by former US National Team coach Mike Vespoli, the company quickly became synonymous with high-performance racing shells designed for speed, strength, and balance. Their boats are widely used by clubs, universities, and national teams around the world.

A huge thank you goes out to Mark Felton, Simon Murray, Claire Meads, Claire Izod, Dick Meads, John Millborne, Jason Burns and all others who gave up their time to re-rig, check over, part tinkering and carefully store the boat in the clubhouse. Their efforts ensured the shell is now ready and in great working order.

We’re planning the first official outing this coming Saturday at 8:00am and we're excited to give it a go!

It’s an exciting moment for the club, and this Vespoli represents both our growing ambitions and the strong spirit of teamwork that keeps OTRC moving forward.
