Understanding OTRC membership options, fees, and British Rowing insurance requirements for the 2025/2026 season

Membership at OTRC

At Oundle Town Rowing Club, we offer a range of membership categories to suit different needs and circumstances. Whether you're a competitive rower, an adaptive athlete, a student home for the holidays, or completely new to the sport, we have an option for you.

Insurance Requirement: All OTRC members must hold valid British Rowing membership for insurance purposes. A BR member number is required to complete OTRC membership.
Membership Year: Runs from 1st September to 31st August. All members must renew and pay before 1st September for continuity of cover.

British Rowing Membership

Required alongside OTRC membership for insurance cover

Row

For those who row without racing at British Rowing affiliated competitions. Ideal for recreational rowers.

Race

For those who want to race at regattas and head races affiliated to British Rowing.

Coach

£31/year

For qualified rowing coaches. Includes professional indemnity insurance in addition to standard cover.

Public Liability

Protection against third-party claims for injury or property damage

Cover for accidents occurring during rowing activities

Equipment Damage

OTRC membership covers damage to club boats and equipment

Professional Indemnity

Additional cover for coaches (included with Coach membership)

Important Notes

  • British Rowing membership is mandatory for insurance purposes - no BR membership means no rowing access
  • All members must update their details on the OTRC App and pay before 1st September for continuity
  • Affiliate members must state their rowing period and confirm full-time education status
  • Learner membership provides 12 weeks access including the six lessons; after which standard membership applies
  • Boat storage (subject to availability) is an additional £100/year add-on for those with private boats
  • Part-year and hardship payment plans are available through the Membership Secretary
