Oundle Town Rowing Club Membership Terms

By using the Oundle Town Rowing Club (OTRC) system and participating in club activities, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
1. Membership Requirements
- British Rowing Membership: All club participants, including juniors and temporary members, must maintain valid British Rowing membership for insurance purposes (Section 2.3 of the OTRC Safety Plan)
- Membership Fees (1st September 2025 - 31st August 2026):
- Full Adult: £285 per annum
- Adaptive Adult: £195 per annum (reduced rate for adaptive rowers)
- Affiliate Adult: £25 per month or £6 per week (for students during vacations)
- Full Junior: £195 per annum
- Boat Storage: £100 per annum (optional add-on)
- Information Accuracy: You confirm that all details provided are correct and agree to inform the Membership Secretary of any changes
2. Safety Requirements
- You must have read and understood the OTRC Safety Plan
- You accept responsibility for ensuring the safety of yourself and others while participating in club activities
- You must be able to swim 50 metres in sports kit and tread water for 2 minutes
- You must declare any injury, impairment, disability, illness, or medication that your coach should be aware of
3. Photography and Video
Important Notice: Rowing takes place in public open spaces where OTRC cannot control photographs/videos taken by third parties.
- Club Use: OTRC uses photography and video for coaching and publicity purposes
- Video Content: Training videos may be published on YouTube in unlisted format and added to unlisted playlists accessible only to club members with direct links
- Consent: You may opt-in or opt-out of video consent at any time through your profile settings
- Concerns: Please discuss any photography or video concerns with your coach
4. Data Protection
Information provided will be:
- Retained in accordance with British Rowing requirements for insurance purposes
- Protected using industry-standard security measures
- Never sold or shared with third parties except as required by law
- Used only for club administration and communication purposes
5. Junior Members
Parental Consent Required: Junior members (under 18) require parental/guardian consent to join OTRC.
- Responsibility for junior safety lies with accompanying parents/guardians
- During organised club sessions, the named club official assumes responsibility for juniors
- Parents must remain on site for land training sessions
- Parents must complete emergency contact forms for their juniors
6. Equipment Use
- Club equipment must be treated with respect and care
- Damage must be reported immediately via the boat maintenance system
- Private boats may be stored subject to committee approval and payment of storage fees
- Equipment may only be used by qualified members or under appropriate supervision
7. Attendance and Training
- Members must confirm attendance for water sessions in advance
- Repeated non-attendance without notice may result in removal from future sessions
- Training must be appropriate to your skill level and health status
- Coaches' safety decisions are final and must be respected
8. Code of Conduct
All members agree to:
- Treat all members, coaches, and visitors with respect
- Follow British Rowing's Code of Conduct
- Represent OTRC positively at all times
- Report any safeguarding concerns to the Welfare Officer immediately
9. Liability
- OTRC accepts no liability for loss or damage to personal property
- Members participate in club activities at their own risk
- Appropriate insurance through British Rowing membership is mandatory
10. Termination
Membership may be terminated by:
- The member giving written notice to the Membership Secretary
- The committee for serious breach of these terms or the club constitution
- Non-payment of membership fees
11. Changes to Terms
OTRC reserves the right to update these terms. Members will be notified of significant changes via email and the club portal.
Agreement: By registering or continuing your membership with OTRC, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions.
