At OTRC, our coaching programme is built around five pillars - each designed to support different rowing ambitions. Whether you want to race competitively, row for fitness, enjoy the river recreationally, develop your skills as a newcomer, or help your children discover the sport - there's a structured pathway waiting for you.
Racing
CompetitiveFor those who want to compete. Structured squad training, race preparation, and a full regatta calendar. Men's and women's racing crews train together as part of the same programme.
Fitness & Skills
Technique & ConditioningRow to get fit and sharpen your technique. Regular coached sessions on the water and the erg, building real fitness through proper rowing - without the pressure of racing.
Recreational
Social & WellbeingRow for the pure enjoyment of it. Relaxed sessions on the river, great company, and fresh air. No pressure, no commitment beyond turning up and having a good time on the water.
Development
Your Starting PointYour starting point at OTRC. From taster days through Learn to Row and beyond - a structured pathway that takes you from complete beginner to confident, independent rower.
Juniors
Ages 11+A dedicated programme for young rowers aged 11 and above. Coached sessions, skills development, and the chance to compete at junior regattas. Safe, structured, and fun.
