A Community Sports Club That Punches Above Its Weight
OTRC has 60+ active members, 25+ boats, two safety launches, and an after-school junior programme. We coach beginners onto regatta start lines, provide adaptive rowing for members with physical disabilities, and run free taster sessions every spring. Sponsorship goes directly into junior coaching, equipment, and keeping fees affordable.
Membership stretches from teenagers who join through Learn to Row to retirees rowing in their 70s. Adaptive crews train alongside racing eights. Working parents row at 6:30am and again on Sunday. The club brings people together who would otherwise never share a sport.
After more than 25 years on the River Nene, the club is run almost entirely by volunteers. Member fees cover the bulk of running costs but never the full picture. Sponsorship buys new oars when one snaps, helps a junior afford their first regatta entry, and keeps the boathouse heated through winter erg sessions.
Sponsor OTRC and you fund the things membership fees alone cannot stretch to: junior coaching subsidies, regatta entries, replacement equipment, adaptive rowing kit, and free taster sessions for new members.
